5 Tips to Start the New Year Off Right

1. Focus on Your Digital Brand

Digital marketing continues to become more relevant every year. In fact, $7 out of every $10 advertising dollars are spent on digital. With what we’ve learned and continue to learn about consumers and how they interact with brands, it’s more important than ever for your business to have a digital presence, whether that be on a social platform, video or display ads, OTT or any other paid media. Your digital presence should be where you targeted audience is.

2. Be Nimble & Agile

Every business experiences uncertain times and a new year is one of those. For success, a business must have agility and preparedness for what the future may hold. You should expect the unexpected and prepare your business for any potential disruptions. Heading into 2024, your business should prepare for the political year and be adaptable with marketing. Strategies may have to change throughout the year requiring a fast pace when the time is right.

3. Understand Your Audience, but Don’t Be Limited By Them

Businesses should understand their target audience and ideal customer. The most important thing is to understand this, but also be open to expanding upon your target. Your audience can change at anytime, just as your business can and will. With uncertain times and a new year approaching, it’s important to be flexible and adapt or even pivot if you have to. Push your message to your audience, but also have the mindset of supporting those outside the target.

4. Relationships Over Transactions

It’s important to remember that behind every sale is a person. These individuals can be great for brand advocacy as customers that are treated well, will recommend not only your services, but the value you added to the experience. A successful campaign isn’t only about providing a service, but providing a lasting relationship. Be authentic and build a community around your brand.

5. Thank Your Employees (& Yourself)

Showing your appreciation for your employees is a great way to keep the morale high heading into the new year. Ask for your employees’ input when setting goals for the new year. Keeping your employees satisfied results in higher employee engagement and a more successful business. Don’t forget to take a step back and self-reflect. Running a business is hard work. It takes dedication and hours beyond the norm. Hold on to appreciation as you head into the new year and have a great 2024!
